The rapid antigen tests from Healgen are among the quickest approved tests available for home use. These kits have become increasingly popular and are now frequently used in various settings such as offices, businesses, and institutions for mass testing. The tests are known for providing dependable and precise results within a short period.

The Healgen tests operate by identifying the nucleocapsid protein antigen present in the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The tests require nasal swabs to collect samples from individuals suspected to have COVID-19, usually within ten days of symptom onset. The Healgen test kits can recognise both the wild-type and mutated variants of SARS-CoV-2. Many people prefer these rapid tests due to their efficiency in terms of precise results and saved time. Furthermore, the instructions provided with the Healgen test kits are comprehensive and easy to understand.

Why choose Healgen?

The convenience and ease of use of rapid tests make them a popular choice among people. Healgen tests, in particular, provide an added advantage as they are approved in the UK for self-testing and provide accurate results in just 15 minutes. Moreover, the test procedure is less invasive as compared to nasopharyngeal swabs. Each Healgen self-test five-pack contains all the necessary components for conducting one test, which includes:

  • Sterile Swabs
  • Cassettes
  • Buffers
  • Dropper Tips
  • Package insert
  • Workstation
  • Extraction tubes

How Is The Test Done

  • Insert the swab into the nostril of the patient until you feel resistance, up to about 2-4 cm.
  • Roll the swab around five times inside the nostril to get the sample.
  • Use the same swab to repeat the process for the other nostril.
  • Remove the swab from the nostril and get the extraction tube.
  • Place the extraction tube in the hole found in the kit.
  • Carefully remove the sealing film that covers the extraction tube to prevent the liquid from spilling.
  • Add approximately 0.3 mL of the extraction buffer into the extraction tube and dip the swab inside.
  • To get accurate results, roll the swab around seven times and press the head against the side and bottom of the tube.
  • Let the swab remain in the extraction buffer for about a minute.
  • Squeeze the tube from the outside while waiting.
  • Insert the tip into the extraction tube to complete the process.

How To Interpret The Results

  • If you see a line on the C mark, the result is negative, indicating no SARS-CoV infection. However, it is recommended to retest in a few days since the virus may not be detectable during all phases.
  • A positive result is shown by lines on both the test and control lines (C and T), indicating the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If your results are positive, seek medical attention from a healthcare professional or visit the nearest healthcare center.
  • Taking a home test using the Healgen test kit during suspected COVID-19 infections is a proactive measure to determine your infection status. This can help you protect your family, particularly vulnerable members like seniors.
